The project's vision is to ‘adopt a common standard for informing and assisting the management of protected landscapes in furtherance of the European Landscape Convention and in the context of climate change'. To do this three key pillars of sustainable landscape management: mapping, characterising and planning for sustained special qualities are being looked at with an overall toolkit being produced.
The project has captured a wide variety of case studies that will interest professional and community groups alike. There are 19 examples of grassland management from across Southwest England as well as Normandy and Brittany in France of how sustainable landscape management can make better places for all, click here to see them.
