Over the next six years the campaign made huge steps forward, building up to 1,100 events and 1.4 million people taking part in Love Parks Week 2012.
Love Parks week 2013 is Saturday 27th July to Sunday 4th August.

Park facts for health. NHS supporting evidence on the importance of green space and health:
o Environmental volunteering, including tree planting, can be as effective as aerobics in improving fitness.
o People living closer to green spaces are more physically active and less likely to be overweight or obese than people living furthest from public parks who are 27% more likely to be overweight or obese.
o People who live within 500 metres of accessible green space are 24% more likely to meet the recommended levels of physical activity.
o In England people living closer to green space have lower death rates and less heart disease.
